Recollection: Pics from Negros Province

Last Sunday morning, I browsed my archived pics from CDs just to kill time and to reminisce the good 'ol days. Hehehehe... As I looked the pics, I felt blessed that I still cherished the good times with my parents, my brother, the places, and of course my "super" friends. Here are some of my pics that I got my attention:

This is the sundial at the side of the our old parish church in VICMICO (Victorias Milling Company). This brings me back memories when I was bringing Dad's lunch in the office during summer break(as far as I recall I was in elementary). I was really amazed and I really stared a lot to see how it really works.

This is the old parish church in VICMICO. It is called St. Joseph The Worker Parish Church. It is also called the "Church of the Angry Christ". I really impressed with the detailed paintings at the back of the altar and also the ceiling. This is where I went and played my keyboards during Sunday Mass.

The lily pond near the old parish church. This is where I sometimes played in the afternoon break. My friends and I played "Shapes" here. One friend would turn his/her back thinking of a shape (the six seats have different shapes) while the rest of us will be choosing and standing on the seats that we wanted. Once the friend turned around and called a particular shape, the one standing on that shape will be his/her turn in calling shapes. I remembered that I nearly fell on the pond because I was got very excited when playing this game.

These are my Mom and my Dad. My Mom is very kind, friendly, cheerful, God-fearing, generous, and very sociable. If anybody would say that his/her Mom is the most beautiful woman of the world, well I would say a hundred times for that. Hehehehe... She encourages me a lot, gives advices, talks a lot to her friends, she helps in times of need, and she cares a lot. Not to mention that she loves to sing, to dance, to eat sweets "no more sweets, Mom! Promise me that! hehehehe...", to listen music and to watch night shows. I got most of my personalities from my Mom but not her looks (at least I got her heart). My Dad is very strict, hardworking, simple, patient, God-fearing and most of the time serious. He also loves to sing, to teach in school, to give advices in life, and to develop garden in our frontyard. I remembered that time that I barely played outside in the afternoon during summer break because he gave me some advanced topics to solve in my room (imagine that he wrote all the math problems on the wall inside my room just solve them all by myself). Even though we had tough times during my school years, he is a very good disciplinarian and I am very grateful with that (besides I got his brains).

This is the sugar mill site of VICMICO. I usually passed here when I went to school during elementary and high school. Right now, the train carts and the tracks are no longer in use: they use trucks in delivering sugarcanes to the mill site.

This is the school that I studied during elementary and high school (Don Bosco Technical Institute - Victorias). I truly missed the soccer field, the classrooms, the acacia trees, the green ambiance around campus, and of course the teachers, the priests, and my classmates as well. The chapel below is where I played school organ during school Mass: the place is small but serene and it has a nice small garden at the right. In this school, they offered technical courses like carpentry, machinery, electronics, and computer. Also, I remembered that we did regular classroom cleaning after class and also the outdoor cleaning in the morning (scrubbing the floor, wiping the dust, brooming the dirt, picking up dead leaves, cleaning the school canals, pulling out weeds, etc.). They are heavy regular tasks: no exceptions from the students! hehehehe...

During the summer break in college, I usually joined in conducting youth camps in YFC (Youth For Christ) to most places in Negros province. As far as I recall, I already knew most places in northern Negros and some in the southern Negros: probably more than 20 places (cities, towns, and haciendas) that I got in the entire camps. For me, it was great experience in my college especially going other places, meeting new friends, doing missionary work to youths, midnight fellowship with bonfire, jamming along with songs, and doing simple but unordinary things that I usually don't do (like living in rural areas, getting bath using deep well, cooking meals using firewood, sleeping under the tree, crossing other haciendas in a muddy road, etc.)

This is our small room with my brother (right). Just simple but cozy room: I usually slept early at night in my home because the cool breeze can pass through freely in my room and it really gave me a nice long sleep. I remembered one time during summer break that I could barely get out in my room in the afternoon since my father was leaving plenty of assignments wrote on the wall and I should solve all the problems before I went to sleep: otherwise, I will be receiving a discounted allowances in the forthcoming schoolyear. Very strict but I gratefully thanked my father that I got advanced lessons from him. Aside from that, I usually invite my friends to play video games in my room or to jam some songs with my keyboard.

Jay-R, Joezon, Mark, Bensan, and Mike. My closest friends/buddies in my homeplace. I usually meet them whenever I get home in our province for a vacation. Also, we usually getting out for a day and having a great time in places we wanted to spend with (cracking jokes, sharing experiences, etc.)

They are other things that I also missed in my province but it's too long if I post them in this blog. If I had time to get some pics in there, I gonna post them next time. Till then!

Technical Symposium

February 10 marks the day for the ADI Technical Symposium at Bellevue Hotel, Alabang. There were plenty of delegates and some invited guests who attended this ocassion. It's hard working as a committee for the said event especially I was handling two roles. It's a worth experience though and of course I enjoyed much in there.

10 Random Things About Me

I was tagged by Rose in giving 10 random things about me. Since it would be in random, it doesn't mean they are my top 10's, hehehehe.... Shall I begin?

1. I really don't like scary movies. I tend to cover my eyes especially on the shocking and terrifying scenes. I always skip blank TV channels and turn the lights on while watching at night. I fear that Samara would suddenly appear in the TV screen and get out from the tube if I let the TV on with blank channel (I don't have yet a DVD copy of "The Ring"). Hehehehe...

2. I play keyboards at night to some reasons. I play when I feel I couldn't sleep. I play so I can ease my tension from whole day's activity. I play whenever I got into good or bad mood (most of the time, I play when I have in good mood). I play when I heard new songs from my MP3's or from the radio. And sometimes, I play when I wanted to record it in my laptop as MP3's.

3. I usually sleep at around 10PM-12AM and I automatically wake up at 6AM. I really push myself not to sleep in the afternoon so I wouldn't find a hard time sleeping at night.

4. Aside from badminton as my favorite game, I also play volleyball and bowling.

5. I am watching Naruto episodes and also reading Naruto translated manga. But before Naruto, I also love to watch Rurouni Kenshin episodes.

6. I only drink red or white wine in cocktails. No beer, no hard liquor, no softdrink, and no smoke.

7. Also, I like going at theme parks so I can shout out loud in all rides.

8. How I wish if I could have a party where everybody can enjoy and laugh in throwing cream pies with each other. Also, how I wish that I could meet Cameron Diaz and celebrate our birthday together. She's one of my idols that has the same birthday with me. hehehehe.

9. I love in caring dogs and cats in my province. I kinda miss Smooge (white Japanese spitz), Alexa (black labrador retriever from my neighbor), and Assunta (grey cat, I dunno what kind of breed she is). Last Sunday, I played Charlie from my Tita's home in Las Pinas (white Chinese shih tzu) and he was adorable: not to mention that he sticked to me wherever I go inside Tita's house and he was doing weird pumps in my legs. hehehehe...

10. I have a scar in my right eyebrow and I got it when I had a barber's cut.

I gonna tag Clemz and Rhea for their 10 random things. Well, thanks for reading my blog and a wonderful day ahead.

Red Shirts

Five of us were caught wearing red shirts at the same day. I know that Valentines will be coming this month but we didn't mean that we got excited early for this occasion. I do not have plans this Valentines: I dunno if somebody would invite me that day and that would be a real surprise.
